Kailasanathakona water falls is situated in the valley of Nagirihills near Puttur.The water here is said to be rich in minerals andposses curative  properties. Puranas reveal thatLord  Kailasanathaswamy attended the marriage of LordVenkateswaraSwamy and goddess  padmavati at Narayanavanam

 

and selected this water fall for meditation .Hence, this  place iscalled Kailasanathakona which is a picnic, scenic and picturesque spot. There are no of buses, travels available from puttur town. Direct

 

Buses are available from Puttur Bus stand. Also, a number of sharedautos available. On weekend 100s of tourist come majorlyfrom Chennai.  Weekdays is less crowded. Tourists trek themountain to swim in few of the wells, but so high. It is believed thatthere are 7 wells up the hill from  were water  falls.

History 

As per the puranas, it is said that Lord Kailasanatheswara Swami attended the marriage of Lord Venkateshwara Swami and Goddesses Padmavathi at Narayanavaram here. He then selected this water fall for performing penance for some time. Hence the name Kailasakona.
