Sodam is a Mandal in Chittoor district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The place is named after a Britisher called Sodam who carried out development works in the area. There are several Mango orchards near this place and people living here are mostly farmers and small traders. Since many years on every Friday these farmers and small traders attend Santha(a vegetable market/bazaar) where people sell/buy/exchange their local produce at cheap and affordable rates. There is an international school built up near this place in a village Gongivaripalli named The Peepal Grove School which happens to be a reputed one amongst the nearby districts.
Sodam is located near the Gargeya river. There are several temples in and around Sodam. The Subramanyam swamy temple near to the Gargeya river. An age old Chennakesava Swamy temple and The famous Ayyappa Swamy temple, located near the village Yerrathivari palli. Ayyappa Swamy Temple attracts many devotees from in and around Chittoor district, who cannot go to Sabarimala temple in Kerala, because of the distance. The devotees come here as this temple resembles that in SabarimalaAt each corner of this village Goddess Ganga is present, Here people believe Ganga every year at the time of chaitra masam people celebrate a feast in Sodam every year to share their happiness and to show their devine on Gods & Goddess they celebrate some fests
