Andhra Prdesh Forest Minister B. Gopala Krishna Reddy launched the sixty seventh Vana Mahostavam by planting trees along with the Z.P. chair person Geeravani, M.P.Sivaprasad, MLC. Gounivani Srinivasulu and district Collector Siddartha Jain here on Friday at Agricultural Market Yard on bye pass road, Chittoor Municipal Corporation. The programme was organized by the social forest departments. Earlier speaking at the meeting M.P. Sivaprasad disguised himself as former India President Abdul Kalam said that former President was very much interested in free planting trees and requested the children to take this task which inspired to appear like him in order to encourage the children not only to take up plantation and to bring them up in full fledged tree. Then he greeted this children gathered there and encouraged for plantation of saplings. Forest Minister B.Gopala Krishna Reddy told about the important part played by trees in the life of people. About 1 crore tress would be planted in the state during to inaugural day Friday under the guidance of Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu involving all sections of people. The programme will be launched today in all Grama Panchayat , Mandal headquarters and assembly head quarters in the district. He said that in the district 15 lakh saplings would be planted today itself involving children, teachers, voluntary organizations and people. In the market yard itself 12 thousand trees would be planted by the children of different schools. He gave a call to all people to treat as campaign and plant them for the sake of future generation. District Collector Siddhartha Jain, Z.P. Chief Person Geervani and M.L.C Gouni sreenivasulu were also spoke Mapakshi Mohan chairman market committee, Rajasimhulu Telugu Desam State committee leader, Conservative of forests Chalapathi among others participated.
